Taking into account the positive reactions to the flip side of this recording, I gladly post the other side. Violinist Tal Henry's territory band was almost forgotten until recently, when Mrs. Sara R. Henry, his daughter-in law wrote a fascinating book about the orchestra (see http://talhenry.com/ ). In early 1919, he began playing with the Frank Hood band and made his home in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 1924 Tal Henry took over the band and formed the Tal Henry and His North Carolinians Orchestra where he played in the O’Henry Hotel in Greensboro. By the middle of the 20's, after touring a lot, the orchestra was nationally known thanks to their records. In 1928, the orchestra performed in two short subjects. This great record was made in 1928, with vocalist Chester Shaw.
