A judge in New York has dismissed charges of resisting arrest, trespassing and disorderly conduct against hot dog eating champion Takeru Kobayashi. He was arrested at an international hot dog eating contest while trying to climb onto stage after the competition.

Japanese eating champion Takeru Kobayashi is out of hot water after a judge in New York dismissed charges of resisting arrest, trespassing and disorderly conduct.

A judge said the case will be purged from Kobayashi's record if he stays out of trouble for the next six months.

"I was nervous waiting for the judge's decision, and I was trying to accept the decision."

Kobayashi was arrested at the July 4th Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest while trying to climb onto the stage after the competition ended.

Kobayashi, seen here in 2006, has won the Hot Dog Eating Contest six times. A contract dispute prevented him from competing this year.
