OneRepublic have had a live performance broadcast across massive screens in New York's Times Square.

The group played hits including Apologise and All The Right Moves as part of a promotion for HP's new Beats Audio technology, which is designed to improve the quality of music playback on a PC.

The performance was splashed across the NASDAQ and Thomson Reuters buildings whilst fans in the streets below were given headsets so they could hear the music.

Lead vocalist Ryan Tedder said: "All of a sudden there's 50-foot versions of us in the very centre of Times Square, so, it was unexpected. As we were singing, I'd just glance over and oh my god, there I am, you know, so it's kind of a trip."

OneRepublic are currently promoting their new album Waking Up, the follow up to the highly successful Dreaming Out Loud from which Apologise hailed.

The single reached number one in sixteen countries, but with the new album getting a lot of interest, Ryan is confident they have surpassed the point of being a one hit wonder:

"I'd like to think we've crossed that hump. At this point, we're lucky in that the music that we love, happens to resonate, it happens that millions of other people love it. I can't equate that to anything other than luck, really, or good fortune," he said.
