Fans around the world are gathering to mark the first anniversary of the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

The legendary performer died in suspicious circumstances on June 25, 2009 at his rented home in Holmby Hills in Los Angeles.

Candles and flowers have already been left at Jacko's iconic Neverland Ranch. People are also paying their respects at MJ's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Jackson waxworks are taking centre stage at Maddame Tussauds around the world.

Kathy Bagshaw, Director of Operation at the New York attraction said: "People are leaving flowers, people like to leave notes and more importantly they like to stand next to him and have their photo taken with him to commemorate his death but also celebrate his life."

It is thought fans will be welcome at the Forest Lawn Cemetary where Jacko is buried, although they won't be allowed near his actual burial site.
