http://www.Warholian.com Artist Fahamu Pecou is known for portraying his dreams of stardom on canvas. Painting well known magazines covers - and including himself in the mix as the star - he gives homage and reinvents the entire concept of the "self portrait." Fahamu makes a point to highlight how African American rap stars are portrayed in society, by placing himself (an artist) is established art magazine media. Or are these just the dreams of every artist? A slightly raised chin and sunglasses give the air of superiority, while women on each arm make him the man everyone wants to know. If there is one thing Pecou's images make you do...it's think. -Warholian Visit Fahamu Pecou's site: http://www.fahamupecouart.com/ Visit Shooting Gallery to see his current show "Whirl Trade:" http://www.ShootingGallerySF.com
