Temperatures Soar in Punjab, India

Intense heat has made life difficult for many in northern India. But despite the blistering temps... tourists have gone about their normal routine.

An intensifying heat wave in Punjab, India is putting life out of gear as temperatures hover over 113 degrees Fahrenheit. But visitors are braving the heat.

Despite the heat, visitors attended a flag lowering ceremony on the India-Pakistan border at Punjab.

"There is intense heat in Amritsar. The temperature is around 113-116 degrees Fahrenheit, but even then I have come here to see the parade."

[Jagat Pratap, Visitor]: (Hindi male)
"The heat is too much, but still the feeling of patriotism is intense. I have come here with my kids to show them the history and culture of our country."

Roadside vendors are doing well in the hot weather.

Each evening the flags of India and Pakistan are lowered at the border. The ceremony is very popular among the locals and tourists alike.
