A celebration was held in New York to honor Time's list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. The list was divided into four categories - leaders, thinkers, artists and heroes.

President Barack Obama, as well as Sarah Palin made the list of leaders.

[Sarah Palin, Former Governor of Alaska]: (English)
"Well, I just think it's pretty cool that Time just wanted a representative of the average everyday hardworking American. That's who we are. Just so thankful to have been provided this opportunity in America, this land of opportunity. Glad to be on the list for that reason."

The issue features essays written about each selected individual. One of the essays was written by legendary singer Stevie Nicks for Taylor Swift, a country singer.

[Taylor Swift, Music Artist]: (English)
"I could not believe how wonderful and sweet and heartfelt her essay was and it just, it made my day honestly. It made me feel so special and she's been my hero for so long. To have your hero write things about you like that. It's just a wonderful day when I read that."

Ashton Kutcher has been seen as an actor gone media mogul, working on various humanitarian projects. Kutcher says he is influenced by everyone.

[Ashton Kutcher, Actor]: (English)
“I think that's why I like the social web so much because I can be on it and actually connect with millions and millions of people everyday and be influenced by them, so really I think I'm definitely not here for my acting, so I actually, I'm here representing millions of people that allow me to connect with them on a daily basis."

Talk show host and media magnate Oprah Winfrey has been on every list since it was started seven years ago…more than any other Time 100 designee. She was recognized for her achievements on Broadway, movies and publishing.
