X Factor star Diana Vickers has achieved her first number one with debut solo single, 'Once'.

She reached the semi-final stage of the show in 2008 and after receiving critical acclaim in a stage adaptation of Little Voice, has returned to her pop beginnings.

She has collaborated with other major femalE newcomer Ellie Goulding on her new album, as well as Light Speed Champion.

Her mentor on the hit talent show was Cheryl Cole and despite not making the final of the, she is now set for a career coming up against the Girls Aloud star in the singles chart.

She admitted to us that she is looking to go back into acting again when she has become more established as a recording artist, citing her ideal role as being in a Tim Burton and Johnny Depp movie.
