Spanish bullfighter Jose Tomas, long considered one of Spain's premier matadors, remains in a critical condition following an operation after being gored by a bull in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Tomas experienced severe hemorrhaging after one of the bulls' horns struck him in the groin.

It is the second time he has been injured during his bullfighting career.

Spectators at the bullring where immediately asked to donate blood.

The bullfight, which was held on Saturday, is part of the annual San Marcos Fair in the city.
