On April 21, 2010, seventeen people were injured and another 11 workers went missing after an oil drilling platform exploded off the coast of New Orleans.  Transocean representative Adrian Rose said the explosion appears to be a blowout, a situation in which natural gas, or oil, forces its way up a well pipe and smashes the equipment.  The exact cause of the accident and who was responsible is still under investigation.

Maritime lawyer Brian Beckcom's firm is closely monitoring the story and is calling for an independent investigation into the cause of this accident as well as other explosions that have happened in the same area recently.

If you are searching for an attorney related to this incident, please be careful and do not rush the process.  Take your time.  Interview multiple attorneys, and make sure the lawyer you hire is Board Certified and has a documented, and successful, record of handling maritime injury cases.
