Mel C believes that although the musical about the Spice Girls will be fictional, the writers will draw from the girls' many anecdotes.

Appearing at the Olivier Awards as a nominee for her role in Blood Brothers, she expressed her excitement about the show which will be produced by Judy Craymer, the woman behind the great success of Mamma Mia.

Also performing at the event, Mel fit in perfectly amongst the theatre elite and impressed the audience with her version of the famous character, Mrs Johnstone.

In her debut role on the West End, Mel has had glowing reviews in Willy Russell's classic musical.

She also revealed she will be releasing a new album later in the year and is currently working on brand new tracks.
