Sending masalas, currey powder and pickle to your loved ones abroad which earlier was restricted due to security reasons at airport, is now possible. The postal department has introduced flat rate boxes for airlifting such banned items.According to Dr N Vinodkumar, Director International Parcel and Speed Post told MiDDAY, “The idea of introducing the flat rate boxes is to have uniform prices for parcels, which otherwise would vary depending on the destination of the foreign country. We will now handle air parcels weighing from one kilogram upto 5 kilograms. This is also done to fight the competition with private players.”
