[Sandra Gibson, President & CE0, APAP]:

“We’re on three floors here in the Hilton hotel. There are almost 400 exhibitors here from around the world.”

It’s the 53rd annual conference of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, or APAP. Exhibitors come from all over the world, from as far away as Ireland and New Zealand.

[Sandra Gibson, President & CE0, APAP]:
“This association has the entire industry involved: the artists who tour, their management and agencies, and the presenters themselves.”

One of the key projects Sandra Gibson is working on is what she calls “cultural diplomacy", bringing together arts and culture from every corner of the globe to learn more about one another.

[Sandra Gibson, President & CE0, APAP]:
“And there’s always been this curiosity to bring what is maybe less known and to engage with other cultures among presenters.”

Ms. Gibson says developing relationships with foreign governments is important for making it easier to break down borders and facilitate cultural exchange.

[Sandra Gibson, President & CE0, APAP]:
“Presenters are finding their way, finding their own connections, and building their relationships directly.”

And with around 2,000 members in 36 countries, the Association of Performing Arts Presenters and its conferences like these have been a great success.
