Another installment from the Amarillo College Natural History Museum. This one the Maritime Gallery.

One might ask why ship models in a Natural History Museum? The answer is simple All early exploration was done using sailing ships. For example Charles Darwin's famous voyage of discovery on the HMS Beagle.

The ship models in the ACNHM were done by a master modeler who donated the collection for the purpose of public education. Most are in the Museum, a few however are in the Library on the Washington Street Campus, Amarillo, Texas.
