Two main options have been outlined for the Palace of Westminster. One would involve a full decant, with both the Commons and the Lords moving out while work is carried out. The other would see restoration carried out in stages while Parliament remains on site. A full decant would take between nineteen and twenty-four years and could cost up to fifteen point six billion pounds.
