South Korean President Lee Jae Myung announced he will not take sides in the recent China-Japan diplomatic dispute. He also signaled his intent to help create the groundwork for North Korea-U.S. dialogue and review South Korea-U.S. joint military exercises, which have traditionally angered Pyongyang. Lee participated in a citizens’ march marking the country’s defiance against a failed martial law attempt last year.
