ఏపీలో స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికలకు ప్రభుత్వం నుంచి సంకేతాలు వెలువడుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో రాష్ట్ర ఎన్నికల సంఘం అందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తోంది. 175 అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గాల ఓటర్ల జాబితాలు రాష్ట్ర ఎన్నికల ప్రధాన అధికారి కార్యాలయం నుంచి తీసుకుంది. వీటి నుంచి మున్సిపల్, పంచాయతీల వారీగా ఓటర్ల జాబితాలు సిద్ధం చేయనున్నారు. ఇందుకోసం మున్సిపల్, పంచాయతీల్లో మాస్టర్‌ ట్రైనీలకు శిక్షణ ఇచ్చారు. ప్రభుత్వం రిజర్వేషన్లు ఖరారు చేయడమే తడవుగా ఎన్నికల నోటిఫికేషన్‌ ఇవ్వాలన్న యోచనతో ఎన్నికల సంఘం ఉంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో రాష్ట్ర ఎన్నికల కమిషనర్‌ నీలం సాహ్నిని పురపాలక, పట్టణాభివృద్ధిశాఖ మంత్రి నారాయణ శుక్రవారం కలవడం ప్రాధాన్యం సంతరించుకుంది.


With the Andhra Pradesh government indicating that local body elections may be announced soon, the State Election Commission (SEC) has begun its preparatory work.

The SEC has collected the voter lists of all 175 Assembly constituencies from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. These lists will now be reorganized municipality-wise and panchayat-wise to prepare the final voter rolls for local body polls.

To streamline the process, master trainers in municipalities and panchayats have already been trained.
The SEC is keen on issuing the election notification immediately after the government finalizes reservations for local bodies.

In this context, the meeting between State Election Commissioner Neelam Sahni and Municipal & Urban Development Minister Narayana on Friday has gained significant importance.
