पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने SIR प्रक्रिया को तुरंत रोकने की मांग की है। उनका दावा है कि इस अव्यवस्थित और तेज़ी से चलाए जा रहे काम ने अब तक 28 लोगों की जान ले ली है। मुख्यमंत्री के अनुसार, यह प्रक्रिया इतनी जल्दबाजी और दबाव में चल रही है कि जमीनी स्तर पर काम कर रहे कर्मचारी मानसिक तनाव का शिकार हो रहे हैं।
