बिहार की राजनीति में जब बात विकास की होती है, तो एक पहलू बार-बार सामने आता है — महिलाओं की भागीदारी। एक वक़्त था जब बिहार की आधी आबादी सामाजिक और राजनीतिक जीवन से लगभग गायब थी। लेकिन पिछले दो दशकों में तस्वीर बदली है — और इस बदलाव के केंद्र में रहे हैं मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार।

नीतीश जी ने महिलाओं के मुद्दे को कल्याण की जगह नीति के रूप में देखा। यही वजह है कि आज बिहार, महिला सशक्तिकरण के कई मामलों में देश के सामने एक मॉडल बनकर खड़ा है।
