Timor-Leste hosted a luncheon reception to mark the country's admission to Asean in Kuala Lumpur on Monday (Oct 27).

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim affirmed Malaysia's commitment to treating Timor-Leste as a fully functional partner.

Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão expressed gratitude to Malaysia and all Asean members for welcoming his nation into the organisation.
