Israeli Warships Block Gaza Aid Flotilla | Greta Thunberg on Board

The international flotilla carrying aid to Gaza said on Wednesday that Israeli warships surrounded two of its boats and shut down navigation and communication systems in what organizers described as a “cyber attack.”

The flotilla, made up of over 40 boats with around 500 people — including politicians, lawyers, activists, and climate campaigner Greta Thunberg — aims to break Israel’s blockade and deliver food and medicine to Gaza.

Organizers said Israel’s actions put civilians from more than 40 countries in serious danger. The flotilla plans to reach Gaza by Thursday morning if not intercepted.

Earlier, drones dropped stun grenades and powder on the boats, causing damage but no injuries. Israel has not commented but insists it will stop the vessels from reaching Gaza, calling the blockade legal due to its conflict with Hamas.

Italy and Greece urged Israel not to harm the activists and asked the flotilla to hand over the aid for indirect delivery, but organizers refused. A UN expert warned that blocking the flotilla would violate international law.
