The leader of a syndicate smuggling subsidised cooking oil to Thailand, known as 'Datuk John', pleaded not guilty in the Kota Baru Sessions Court on Wednesday (Oct 1) to two counts of possessing scheduled controlled goods, namely 15,483kg of cooking oil without a valid licence three years ago.
