Indonesian political parties have agreed to revoke a number of perks and privileges for parliamentarians, President Prabowo Subianto said on Aug 31 in a major concession to anti-government protests that left five people dead.

The protesters have targeted several politicians and government officials by breaking into and looting their homes for their insensitive remarks on the issues including lawmakers' salaries and government funding.
