China lauded India’s 'prompt and professional response' to MV Wan Hai 503 fire. 'Our gratitude goes to Indian Navy & Mumbai Coast Guard', Chinese Spox Yu Jing posted on ‘X’. Coast Guard & Indian Navy’s quick response several crew members including Chinses and Taiwanese nationals. Singapore flagged MV Wan Hai 503 was carrying 22 crew members, including 8 chinses, 6 Taiwanese. On June 09, MV Wan Hai 503 encountered onboard explosion and fire 44 nautical miles off Azhikkal, Kerala. Chinese Spox further ‘wished successful search ops & injured crew members’ speedy recovery’. Singapore-flagged container Vessel is listing approximately 10–15° to port. India Coast Guard ships Samudra Prahari, Sachet conducting fire-fighting operations, boundary cooling. ICG Ship Samarth along with salvors being deployed from Kochi for the rescue ops.
