The Immigration Department has been instructed to intensify large-scale enforcement operations targeting locations frequented by foreigners, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Speaking after an appreciation ceremony for the Immigration Department (JIM) on Friday (May 16), Saifuddin revealed that, as of May 13, the department had conducted 5,001 operations, resulting in the arrest of 34,287 illegal immigrants and 669 employers for various immigration offences.
