While the government-built bunkers have proven crucial in saving lives during 8-10 May, locals said that the devastation to their homes and farms is beyond repair. Villagers are now urging the central and state governments to announce a special rehabilitation package tailored for border residents. Their demands include compensation for destroyed homes, lost livestock, and financial support to rebuild lives shattered by repeated hostilities.
