Former U.S. President Donald Trump, commenting on the 2021 India-Pakistan ceasefire understanding, said:
“Let us not trade nuclear missiles, let us trade goods,”
adding that “India and Pakistan are getting along, and they can have a nice dinner.”
He also remarked, “Millions of people could have died due to the conflict.”
Reacting to his claims, India firmly dismissed the suggestion that trade talks were linked to the ceasefire agreement.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified: “The issue of trade did not come up in any of the talks between the U.S. and Indian sides” during discussions on tensions with Pakistan.
