Massive clashes erupted in Turkey’s Istanbul on the May Day as police charged the people protesting against the detention of the city’s Mayor and President Erdogan’s main political opponent Ekrem Imamoglu, despite a ban on Public gatherings.

Hundreds of protesters were dragged away and taken into custody as chaos ensued at Istanbul’s Taksim square.
