At a gathering with House of Representatives from the Republican Party on Jan 27, US President Donald Trump said Chinese startup DeepSeek's technology should spur American companies to emulate the firm for coming up with a cheaper, faster method of artificial intelligence.

Trump also spoke about tariffs and TikTok during the event.
