Moga: The United Kisan Morcha held a Mahapanchayat in Moga today. Farmers from every corner of Punjab participated in this Mahapanchayat. A record-breaking flood of people came because of the farmers. The gathering in the Moga Mahapanchayat passed a unity resolution in view of the need for a joint/coordinated struggle of the farmer movement for the cancellation of the draft of the National Agricultural Marketing Policy, the enactment of a law on MSP and purchase guarantee under the Swaminathan formula, the implementation of the accepted demands of the Delhi Morcha, and the debt relief of farmers and laborers. Six-member unity committee The six-member unity committee of the United Kisan Morcha will take this resolution of unity at Khanauri and Shambhu borders tomorrow, January 10. This also includes an invitation to hold a joint meeting at Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala on January 15. These action programs will include the rejection of the draft National Agricultural Marketing Policy, the MSP and purchase guarantee law under the Swaminathan formula, debt waiver of farmers and laborers, as well as support for the struggling farmers on the borders. They demanded that the state governments pass resolutions in the legislative assemblies to reject this draft to protect federalism.
