Mountain Rescue Teams across the UK have assisted stranded walkers due to heavy snowfalls.

In Scotland, three walkers were rescued in the Cairngorms after getting stuck in severe conditions, with Braemar and Aberdeen Mountain Rescue completing a 9-hour operation in the Lairig Ghru area.

Met Office Chief Forecaster Jason Kelly warned of significant snow accumulations in Wales, the Midlands, and northern England, accompanied by strong winds causing drifting snow.

National Highways advised drivers to reduce speed and remain cautious as severe weather continues.
