Russia has detained a 29-year-old Uzbek national suspected of assassinating General Igor Kirillov. The suspect allegedly confessed to being recruited by Ukrainian intelligence and admitted to planting a homemade explosive device on an electric scooter outside Kirillov’s residence in Moscow. Kirillov was the head of Russia's nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons protection forces. Ukraine's Security Service reportedly took responsibility for the assassination, accusing Kirillov of ordering the use of banned chemical weapons against Ukrainian forces. An aide to Kirillov also died in the explosion.
