1950s Kix cereal - "Ding Dong School" with Miss Frances TV commercial
Frances Horwich, who was the head of the education department at Chicago's Roosevelt College, was asked to create a program for pre-school age children, in 1952. For the first year it was produced locally in Chicago. In 1953, Frances was put in charge of children's programing at NBC. when that happened she moved the show to NYC.
After the show was cancelled in 1956, Miss Frances moved back to Chicago and aired it on WGN (she owned the program). She also syndicated "Ding Dong School" until 1966.
