Former Trump campaign advisor and right-wing podcast host Steve Bannon was released from federal prison this week. He served four months for defying congressional subpoenas linked to the Jan. 6 Capitol investigation. Bannon delayed his prison term through appeals until July 1, 2024, when Judge Carl Nichols mandated his incarceration. Trump faces four criminal charges for allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 election, including conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and obstruct an official proceeding. The indictment claims Trump knowingly promoted false voter fraud claims to alter the election outcome. He has pled not guilty.
