Surah Al-Wāqiʻa is the 56th surah of the Quran. Muslims believe it was revealed in Mecca, specifically around 7 years before the Hijrah, the migration of Muhammad to Medina. The virtues of the Surah al-Waqiah are mentioned in the reliable and authentic books of Hadith. It is recorded in Shu’ab al-Iman of Imam Bayhaqi: عن ابن مسعود قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: من قرأ سورة الواقعة في كل ليلة لم تصبه فاقةً أبدًا، وكان ابن مسعود يأمر بناته يقرأن بها كل ليلة . Abdullah Ibn Masood (rz) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Whoever recites Surah al-Waqiah every night, he will never be afflicted by poverty. And Ibn Masood (rz) used to order his daughters to read it every night.” (Shu’ab al-Iman 4/120, number 2269).
