Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have once again stepped up to help those in need, donating a generous $1 million to relief efforts for Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which have devastated states including Florida and North Carolina.
In a statement from Feeding America's CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the couple’s contribution was praised for its impact: “We thank Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for their $1 million donation to our disaster relief fund for Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Their ongoing support in times of crisis has been invaluable, helping food banks provide essential items like water, ready-to-eat food, and critical supplies to communities suffering heartbreaking losses and a long road to recovery.”
Hurricane Helene has taken more than 227 lives, while Hurricane Milton has claimed at least seven lives in Florida, according to the New York Times. Milton also caused massive flooding and severe damage, even tearing the roof off Tampa’s Tropicana Field stadium, where rescue workers were stationed.
This isn't the first time the “It Ends With Us” star and the “Deadpool” actor have donated to critical causes. Just last year, during the Israel-Hamas War, they contributed $1 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross to support children affected by the conflict. During the COVID pandemic, they donated another $1 million to both Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. Their charitable work extends to supporting safe water initiatives, such as Water First Education & Training, and aiding the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Blake and Ryan continue to set a shining example for the world by giving back in times of crisis, reminding us all of the importance of helping others when it matters most.
