Along with being the mother of the iconic Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston earned some of music's highest accolades in her more than 7 decades in the industry. She took home two Grammys for Best Traditional Gospel Album in 1997 and 1999 for records Face to Face and He Leadeth Me respectively, recorded more than 600 songs, and worked with legendary artists such as Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Luther Vandross, Bette Midler, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, and many more.
