Passengers faced a "six hour delay" after "all four" tyres on a Ryanair plane burst on landing.

Onlookers claim another pilot said it happened due to a "bad landing" at Milan Bergamo Airport which also damaged the runway as well as the tyres.

Alice Longhurst, 35, was supposed to be flying from the airport to Dubrovnik at 7:50am this morning.

But she says her separate flight was delayed due to the less than perfect landing.

Her pilot announced the plane in front of them had burst four tyres, leaving a strong burning smell of rubber, she said.

The pilot said it happened due to a bad landing and the runway was damaged, she claims.

The pilot announced that the ground crews didn't know how to move the plane after the "crash" because all of the tyres were burst, she said.

And one of the wheels bent under the plane.
