The deaths of Amber Nicole Thurman and Candi Miller were deemed preventable by the state's maternal mortality review committee and occurred due to complications from Georgia's six-week abortion ban. Harris has centered reproductive rights in her presidential campaign, blaming Trump for appointing Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v Wade.
