Russia is known to meddle in foreign politics, but now the US Justice Department says Moscow has been paying influencers to sway the public during elections. Attorney General Merrick Garland says this was all to distribute Russian messaging and "exploit our country's free exchange of ideas in order to covertly further its own propaganda efforts."
