As reported by The Sun, play was stopped in the 65th minute, with players instructed to head back to the dressing rooms.
It has been claimed that hooligans supporting the away club subsequently clashed with police.
Play was eventually able to resume and the match was completed.
The incident occurred during the tie between Olimpija Ljubljana and Rijeka in Slovenia.
The offending Rijeka fans were escorted out of the stadium by police, with play resuming following a 26-minute delay.
After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Olimpija secured a 5-0 victory in the second leg to prevail 6-1 on aggregate.
Raul Florucz opened the scoring and Thalisson Charles hit a brace, with Dino Kojic and Pedro Lucas also finding the net.
