Ben Affleck Skips TIFF 2024 Amid Jennifer Lopez Tensions?

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s highly anticipated film, *Unstoppable*, is set to premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this September, but Affleck himself won't be walking the red carpet. According to sources close to PEOPLE, Affleck's decision to skip the event is reportedly due to tensions with Jennifer Lopez, who has a supporting role in the film and is expected to attend.

The movie, produced by Artists Equity, a company co-founded by Affleck and Damon, tells the inspiring true story of Anthony Robles, a one-legged wrestler who won an NCAA national championship in 2011. Lopez portrays Robles’ mother, a role she has received early praise for, with TIFF's official website noting her "terrific" performance.

The film’s director, William Goldenberg, previously collaborated with Affleck on several projects, including Air, Gone Baby Gone, and Live By Night.

Lopez’s presence at TIFF follows news of her filing for divorce from Affleck, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Earlier this year, Lopez made headlines when she attended the Met Gala alone, with Affleck’s absence attributed to a scheduling conflict as he filmed *The Accountant 2* on the West Coast.
