CCTV footage shows the moment a light plane crashed into trees near a Sydney primary school.
The Piper Cherokee crashed into trees opposite Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School in Bossley Park at 2.30 pm.
The plane initially took off from Bankstown airport at 2.15 pm, with the pilot making a mayday call six minutes later.
CCTV shows when the plane crashed into trees at Terone Park, in the suburb of Bossley Park, in Sydney's west.
Crews are working to remove the wreckage today, which they say could take several hours.
The aircraft will possibly need to be cut into pieces and removed bit by bit.
The pilot and passenger managed to walk away with minor injuries. It's understood the aircraft suffered from some type of engine failure before it went down.
