Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of trying to strike Russia's Kursk nuclear power plant in an overnight attack following Kyiv’s incursion into the region.

Acting governor of the Kursk region stated that the situation at the power station was ‘stable’, addressing officials during the teleconference meeting with president Putin.

There was no immediate comment by Ukraine in response to the allegation, whose forces remain in the Kursk region following their breach of Russia’s western border on August 6th.
