Ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche, sia come interprete dei propri brani, sia come produttore e autore di anzoni per altri, in particolare per Adriano Celentano, negli anni settanta e ottanta.Ha partecipato, da solista, in coppia e insieme a un gruppo, a 15 edizioni del Festival di Sanremo vincendolo una volta nel 1980 con Solo noi.Nel 1990 ha vinto l'Eurovision Song Contest con il brano Insieme: 1992.Nel 2009 riceve il "Premio Lunezia" per la qualità musical-letteraria esportata nel mondo con le sue canzoni.Toto Cutugno è morto il 22 agosto 2023 all'età di 80 anni, in seguito alle conseguenze di un carcinoma cronico della prostata.

With over 100 million copies sold, he is estimated to have been among the most successful Italian musical artists. He reached the top of the charts, both as a performer of his own songs and as a producer and author of anzones for others, in particular for Adriano Celentano, in the seventies and eighties. He participated, as a soloist, in a couple and together with a group, in 15 editions of the Sanremo Festival, winning it once in 1980 with Solo noi. In 1990 he won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Insieme: 1992. In 2009 he received the "Lunezia Award" for the musical-literary quality exported around the world with his songs. Toto Cutugno died on August 22, 2023 at the age of 80, following the consequences of chronic prostate cancer.
