British supplied robot dogs are being deployed with the Ukrainian forces to carry out spy missions and deliver medicine
Ukrainian forces are deploying British-supplied robot dogs to carry out spy missions and deliver medicine to soldiers on the battlefield, it has emerged.
More than 30 of the dystopian-looking machines, known as the Brit Alliance Dog (BAD2), were deployed to Volodymyr Zelensky's troops in Toretsk, Donetsk region.
The robot dogs, which in reality are ground drones, are used to explore trenches, buildings and areas of dense vegetation that aerial drones struggle to access.
The BAD2 machines can travel at speeds of 9mph and can be mounted with over 7kg of ammunition, medical supplies and other front line essentials, reports say.
The commander of the Kurt & Company, a specialist unit within Ukraine's 28th Mechanised Brigade, told The Telegraph his unit is utilising the 'very important' machines in a bid to 'save the lives of our soldiers'.
