Luke Littler was thrashed by Gerwyn Price in the final of the 2024 Australian Darts Masters on Saturday.

The 17-year-old had a decent weekend overall, as he beat Rob Modra, Michael Smith, and Dimitri Van den Bergh en route to the final.

However, he was then hammered 8-1 by Price, who took home the trophy and the £20,000 top prize - double the amount Littler earned.

Littler did not play especially badly in the final and ended it with a 94.24 average. But Price stormed into a 5-0 lead before Littler secured his only leg.

Price - known for his exuberance - is one of darts' biggest celebrators but Littler did his best to match the Welshman... even though he had much less to celebrate.

Littler won the sixth leg of the final when he followed a 180 with an unusual 44 checkout of single four, double five, and double 15.

He reacted to hitting that double 15 by triumphantly raising by of his arms and roaring, before pumping his fists in the direction of the crowd.

Price appeared to be amused and was seen smiling and laughing before bumping firsts with Littler.

Footage of Littler's big celebration was posted to X (formerly Twitter) by the Professional Darts Corporation.

Littler later also shared it via Instagram alongside the message: 'Happy to make the final on my Australian Darts Masters debut, the rest is history.

'Congrats to Gezzy and thanks everyone for all the support'.

Littler has one million followers on Instagram and his post delivered hundreds of comments, while many fans reacted to his celebration with laughing emojis.

One comment read: 'Best attitude in the game'.

Another fan replied: 'Class act. Still unreal darts played today mate!! Onto the next one.
