A child was rescued after falling in the gap between the train and the platform.

The tot reportedly fell from the one-metre-high platform after the train arrived at Taiyuan railway station in south east China on July 29.

Tense video recorded by an eyewitness shows a crowd of worried passengers and a man reaching down to pull the kid out of the gap.

The child was safely pulled out of the gap and reunited their parents.
