This Monday, the government of Mexico submitted a formal request to its Ecuadorian counterpart to obtain a safe-conduct for the former vice-president of that country, Jorge Glal, which would allow him to leave prison, be transferred to a third country and then receive protection from Mexico as an asylum seeker. teleSUR
