A horrific stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed event on Monday has left three girls dead and five other children critically wounded in an English seaside town of Southport. The suspect, a 17-year-old male, is in custody.

On Tuesday, anti-Muslim protests erupted, leading to clashes with police and damage in the town. Far-right groups have spread misinformation, exacerbating the unrest.
A total of 39 police officers were treated for injuries, including 27 who were taken to hospital, North West Ambulance Service said. Police stated eight had suffered serious injuries including fractures, and three police dogs were also hurt.
